Blues in The Schools (BITS)
The Blue Ridge Blues Society Supports the "Blues in the Schools" effort to keep music in our schools and educate students about The Blues as a true American art form!
If you would like more information about Blues in the Schools educational efforts, please go to the Blues Foundation Web Site for more information. You can also call Kerry Hurley at 540-529-8502 for more information about what the Blue Ridge Blues Society is doing locally.
If you are educator in our school system, why not contact Kerry and set up a meeting with your class. Not only can the Blues be inspirational and beneficial to music and art classes, concepts can also be applied to English, Math, and Science as well. What better way to liven up your classroom and your perk your students interests than offering a little music and this true American art form for their practical, real life education!
